Professional Development Workshops
Our team presents workshops for parents, teachers and administrators across the San Francisco Bay Area! We ground every presentation in making Montessori theory and child development accessible by delivering workshops in engaging, fun and interactive ways. Our featured workshops are below, and in addition, we can create a workshop specific to your needs and questions.
Conflict, Resolution and the Birth of Collaboration
In this workshop, participants will learn about the developmental context of how and when collaboration naturally comes about at the end of the first plane (0-6) and come away with practical tools to move conflicts to resolution in your classroom. We will navigate both peer-to-peer conflicts as well as adult-to-child conflicts with setting limits.
One of our founders, Mariana Bissonnette, presented this workshop at the Bay Area Montessori Association (BAMA) speaker event in Fall 2017 and other Montessori schools in the Bay Area. This workshop runs 3 hours, with a break in the middle and time for Q & A at the end, and is intended for Montessori practitioners, relevant to untrained and trained staff alike!
Becoming the New Teacher: Freedom, Limits and Self-Discipline
In this workshop, participants will be grounded in the pedagogical framework for freedom (and its limits) in the prepared environment, tools and tips for our most essential skill: observation, and how to bring about self-discipline in your classrooms.
One of our founders, Mariana Bissonnette, presented this workshop at the Bay Area Montessori Association (BAMA) speaker event in Fall 2018, with record attendance of over 100 people! This workshop runs 3 hours, with a break in the middle and time for Q & A, and is intended for Montessori practitioners, most relevant to trained staff at the 0-6 level.
Welcoming the Not-Yet-Concious Child

Welcoming the Not-Yet-Conscious Child into the Prepared Environment
In this workshop, participants will learn to navigate the transition of the three year old as they bridge out of toddlerhood and into their next phase. We will explore the developmental framework of the transition at 3 years from “unconscious” to “conscious,” consider ways our environments are set up to support one or the other, and learn to borrow developmental pedagogy from adjacent trainings (0-3 and 3-6) to best serve the children in your room.
One of our founders, Mariana Bissonnette, presented this workshop at a Bay Area Montessori school, Grand Lake Montessori, as a professional development workshop for their staff of 40 in 2017. This workshop runs 3 hours, with a break in the middle and time for Q & A, and is intended for Montessori practitioners, most relevant to staff working at the 0-6 level, trained and untrained.

One of our founders, Mariana Bissonnette, presented this workshop at a Bay Area Montessori school, Grand Lake Montessori, as a professional development workshop for their leadership staff in 2016.
